IMPORTANCE OF TOUCH AND TACTILE STIMULATION

Massage is one of the most natural and instinctive means of relieving pain and discomfort. Warmth, caring, reassurance, strength and healing are all transmitted by touch through the hands.

It is a form of nurturing that awakens, encourages and supports the body's own healing powers. Muscular tension is often the physical form of emotional stress, anxiety and depression. 

 

SOME TOP INDICATIONS FOR THE NECESSITY OF A MASSAGE

  • Incorrect Posture - major cause of backpain is bad posture 

  • Bio-Mechanical Conditions - caused by flat feet, high arches cause pain in the knees, hips and lower back. Pain caused by these conditions will be greatly relieved by massage therapy. 

  • Stress and Tension Symptoms - Muscular tension is often the physical form of emotional stress, anxiety and depression. Most commonly affected is the tension triangle: from the base of the skull down the neck and between the shoulder blades.

  • Relaxation -  Ideal way of reducing stress, physical and emotional. Relaxing taut muscles enables the whole body and mind to relax. 

  • Emotional and Psychological Need for Touch and Comfort e.g. bereavement. Massage therapy can work as a safety valve by releasing both physical and mental tension. Sometimes a client does not need a full body massage, but sitting and holding their hand while lending an ear and saying kind words is sometimes enough.

YOUR FIRST THERAPY SESSION

You will be required to complete a CLIENT MEDICAL CONSENT CARD as well as a CLIENT INFORMATION RELEASE FORM. A visual, subjective and objective assessment will be done prior to therapy. 

 

60 minute holistic healing massage for full body
excluding pelvic but including gluteus muscles:

Full massage procedure will be explained to the client prior to the massage. Please ensure that you shower or bath before therapy and do not apply any creams or lotions. This will ensure that therapeutic oils are absorbed by the skin during massage. Do not shower for approx 4 hours after the massage in order to fully benefit from the therapeutic oils. Please ensure that all jewellery, watches and contact lenses are removed prior to massage as they interfere with the energy healing techniques.

Under no condition will pregnant ladies or ladies who are menstruating be accommodated.
